A software engineer is an individual who relate the principles of software engineering to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers or anything containing software work.

  6. I think a software engineering is the creation or maintenance of software that can be used to fulfill the needs of the consumer.A software engineer is just a person who can create that "Bridge" to make that dream a reality.

  7. Software engineering is also known as SWE. It is a field of engineering, for designing and writing programs for computers or other electronic devices, in other words it is a way of creating software using systematic methods. A software engineer is a licensed professional engineer who is schooled, skilled and trained in the application of engineering discipline to the creation of software. Software engineers are often confused with programmers, but the two are vastly different individuals. While a programmer creates the codes that make a program run, a software engineer creates the designs the programmer implements. The function of the software engineer is to be responsible for the complete life cycle of a new or modified software product. Their roles basically starts at the research process which moves on to implementation and then the training and finally the support aspect of it. This is what is meant by complete life cycle.

It is the application of engineering principles to software development. A software engineer applies the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and the systems that enable computers to perform their applications.

This process includes the understanding of the requirements, functional specifications, design description, program implementation, and test methods which should lead up to an efficient and reliable software product.
    A software engineer designs and plans; this to include all areas of the bigger picture. While a software engineer can assume the role of a software developer their core focus mostly lies with the overall architecture of the software.

    Software engineering is the process of applying software to amend real world and virtual issues. The processes of identifying a potential problem, isolating the issue then the steps taken to plan the creation of software to resolve a problem are the cornerstone of software engineering.

    Who is a software engineer?
    A software engineer is both a planner and translator of sorts. I.T. has it's own tongue that is spoken by its practitioners. Many are partially aware of, but not deeply familiar with the words and terminologies used between programmers, technicians, network technicians or what have you. The role of the software engineer is to bridge the language gap between these people so that the correct steps can be taken to amending an issue.

  23. In my opinion, software enginerring is a form of computer science that involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex computer programs. As for a software engineer, is a programmer that writes and compiles codes in order to make an effective and functioning computer program.
